(T2) System familiarization for Estimating and Bidding the MAS Solution

Syllabus

Modern Arch Structures (MAS) construction is a simple formula for building a complex structure. However, all of the procedures and components are precisely designed for maximum results.  In this course you will be given the tools to understand the building components and processes to successfully present to others necessary information to bid a project of any size where MAS units are desired.*

Course objectives include: learning MAS terminology, MAS general quantitative take-offs, how to access and use the MAS website for simple quantitative solutions and presentations, steps and timing of setting MAS forms, steps and timing of setting up and staging MAS SPiFolding (scaffolding), risk management techniques for all weather conditions using the MAS tenting solution, amortization of MAS forms and SPiFolding for specific project considerations,  MAS land densities and site layout.

Casual dress is acceptable

Required skill set: Basic understanding of Excel Spreadsheets and the ability to strictly adhere to MAS procedures

This includes: Mas terminology at a glance, MAS material reference sheets, MAS Estimating and material lists on Excel, MAS building procedures (at a glance), MAS building procedures, MAS SPiFolding (at a glance), MAS 1300 SPiFolding parts and diagrams, MAS 570 SPiFolding parts and diagrams, and MAS HELP contact numbers and e-mail list. All information will be provided in both hard copy and digital form.

*Note: This course is designed to help students understand the basics of estimating and bidding a MAS structure. It is assumed that all other processes related to civil engineering and land development is the sole responsibility of the developer/builder. Local codes and ordinances vary greatly region to region and will only be discussed in general terms.
